Courteous staff, as is always the case in Japan. Had to get this room on the fly as there was a snafu with another hotel I booked. I was able to find an available room. The hotel was perfect for my needs. Clean, centrally located in Fukuoka, laundry room, gym, and well worth what I paid.

Friendly and helpful staff. Close to eateries. There were noises of equipment/machinery as well as people chatting as they walked the back lanes. It didn’t bother us too much but might for those sensitive to noise. Overall a good stay.

A convenient choice for a vacation where you need to wake up not far from the downtown precinct of Shikanoshima Island, is the Kyukamura Shikanoshima.

9 miles (15 kilometers) away from downtown Shikanoshima Island, you will find the With The Style Fukuoka. The Hotel Marinoa Resort Fukuoka is about 6 miles (9 kilometers) away. Another two places to stay in this neighborhood include the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka along with the Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk.

While you are in Shikanoshima Island, try and leave enough time to investigate Kyushu and Okinawa's other great offerings. Kyushu and Okinawa is home to beaches, mountains and active volcanos. The Itozu no mori Zoological Park and Riverwalk Kitakyushu are some of the most frequented attractions to experience while in Kokura.

Before you head home, consider spending a few hours enjoying the plays in the company of spectators at an exciting match. You'll find Fukuoka Yafuoku Dome 7 miles (11 kilometers) to the southeast of Shikanoshima Island.
